Built on the foundations of a 17th century manor house, the Chateau de France boasts all 3 conditions needed for a "Grand Vin": soil, sub-soil & slopes. It's 40 hectares of vineyards, 36 of which are planted with red grapes, cover the highest plateau of Léognan. Bernard Thomassin planted 4 hectares of white grapes in 1985, restoring tradition of producing both red & white wines.
